Remember those old ball-busting websites you grew up loving because they had so many awesome stories? And then one day the web administrator pulled the plug, and you were upset because you hadn't saved those stories, and now they were gone forever....

...or so you thought. I'd been wondering what happened to the Eunuch Archive for some time as the story board went dark over a year ago and the site administrator's only explanation only grumbled of 'censorship' and other political reasons.

For those that remember, the Eunuch Archive had thousands of great ball-busting stories (mostly **********) but they appeared to be gone forever when the site went dark over a year ago...

...or so I thought. I scoured the discussion forums and found a link to what's referred to as the 'WAY BACK' machine...

Some of you may already know of this so-called internet time machine, where you can go back in time to view billions of web pages (dating back to 1996) and see what they looked like as they existed at the time of their 'snapshot'.

So without further ado, I give you the Internet Archive:

http://archive.org/web/web.php
h t t p : / / a r c h i v e . o r g / w e b / w e b . p h p

I typed in eunuch.org and I was able to choose from different points in time to see what the site looked like over the course of its life, stories and all. The site's life in the archives starts around 1996, but doesn't really take off until about 2004. Then the site starts to go dark in 2011.

So there you go, type in a website of your choice (BB or not) and relive the good old days, because what you once thought was lost has been found :bananajum

The problem is that I look at story websites by searching on google within the site. You can't search that, right?

@ Richter: If you're trying to search the Google that existed from 10 years ago for results that would have appeared 10 years ago, then you're probably out of luck.

The Internet Archive is more static than fluid; I'm still learning its intricacies myself. Think of it as a series of photographs from the past. You can view what things looked like back then, but you can't jump into it and relive it in real-time. I hope I'm making sense.

Basically, you have to know what website you're looking for, punch it into the search bar, select a snapshot (by month/date/year) and then you can view what that website looked like back then.

You can often go several layers/links deep into that website before hitting a dead-end.

I found an ancient BB site on the Archive:

It's BB stories from a super old forum (one of the first) back in 1997....Man I feel old :Baahaha:

Yeah, it was through the Internet that I got into bb back in the mid-1990s...I do recall reading some amazing fictional stories by authors like Caligula, Painseeker, Belfour, etc.

One of the pioneering site admins back then, Yoda; he was instrumental in getting the forums going. He still has a site up on http://www.tlcnet.com/bbforum/

Other guys like Hundra were big on putting bb video clips up...man I'm getting all nostalgic haha

ya, I think I vaguely remember some of the old stuff, I think just from hearing the names, I'm not really old enough to remember it, ha. Kramtoad was the first thing I ever saw, and the number2 story site.
