I've noticed rapidgator every once in a while will try and trick you with an exe but if you reload the page the following instance will provide the actual clip.

Actually, all the file sharing hosts are now pulling that shit. Let's face it, file sharing hosts are scumbags and try to screw over users. Anytime anyone tells me the host I'm using is full of crap, I absolutely agree, but, remind them so are the ones they like. These hosts try and make you buy a premium account, only to close the site down without refunding the money (i.e. oron, filefactory, etc).

Rapidshare is currently one of the major file sharing hosts, so they'd be stupid to try to load trojans/viruses, but they do want to hook users into premium services.
