BitTorrent is a means of downloading big files. What happens is that you get a small file (a .torrent file) which contains information about where to download the file and about the file itself so that when you do download it, you know that you're getting the right one. Then you feed this .torrent file to a BitTorrent client such as BitTorrent (http://www.bittorrent.com) or Azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/) or a bunch of other ones. The BitTorrent client then does the actual downloading. The clever bit is that it's also uploading the pieces of the file that you have to other people who are downloading it, so that way all the people downloading it swap amongst each other, which allows for faster downloads and less load on the whatever computer it's being served from. It's also structured to make it easy to share files without a devoted server.
So what he's done is upload a .torrent file to rapidshare. I'm not sure why, since torrent files are very small and you can fit them most anywhere, so they could be posted on normal free web accounts and so forth instead. But that's what he's done. So the process for watching this video is
1) Click on the link
2) Do the rapidshare stuff to get to the actual .torrent file
3) Install a BitTorrent client if you don't already have one (don't worry, all the ones I know of are free of spyware and adware. Azureus and the Official BitTorrent client will both definitely never have spyware or adware)
4) Feed the .torrent file to the BitTorrent client.
5) Wait for it to download the actual file.
6) Watch.
This, of course, is assuming that he's got the .torrent file working correctly and everything, which I don't know because I haven't tried downloading it.

Very complicated way of getting your BB! Sounds similar in principle to those music sharing programs like the early versions of Napster.

Think its definatly a case of if you've seen one you've seen 'em all!
I'm downloading the vid right now. What is the playing time? At 200 MB, I hope it's good. :)

Torrents are actually a brilliant way to transfer files. It ****** anyone downloading the file to contribute to other's downloading the same file. So even if you have 1% of the file downloaded, someone who is just starting to download the same file could potentially be downloading that 1% off of you, as well as anyone else who has already gotten that portion of the file. What this means is that it will work the complete opposite of what you would expect running your own website ... increasing the number of people downloading a file will actually increase the overall speed at which they will each receive the file.
Now I'm am completely against piracy, but I have used bittorrents for legal purposes (distributing very large files to an entire class for educational purposes), and the idea definately deserves credit.
is see the file is download complete..did it work ok?

Torrents work best when there are lots of people sharing the file... so please keep ur torrent open after you've downloaded :D
it was about 6 who download it but no one did comment it so i think it did not work if any one can confirm that it stil work i migh think about make a new torrent but if it did not work there is no point :)

It's 200MB long. It's a 53 minute "clip". I think it's highly unlikely that he will be able to post it. But I have seen the clip before, offered as a free streaming video on a website. So it's available without a download somewhere.
Here you go- I knew it was floating around here. Try this:
Check this out:

select channel "ball kicking"
the 2nd one is pretty good, didn't watch all of the 1st one yet.
enjoyThis gets you the exact same video without the 2 hour download.
