Why can I not see attachments?

For the new users with the question: "Why can I not see attachments?"

This question is the number 1 being asked on the forums so here is a small explanation.

In your welcome email it said that many people only join forums to see attachment and don't bother to post as they are only joining forums to get without giving.

We don't let non posting users see attachment simply because if they are not interested in posting on the forums we are not interested in paying for them to see attachments.

So post on the forums and you will get access to attachments.

Inactive accounts gets banned automatically after a certain period. This means if you joined the forums months ago and you only have a few post to keep your permission to see attachments you will experience your account get banned.

So start posting in the topics here or create your own topic to discuss with others about your interests and the "see attachments" privileges will come by them selfs.

I posted a couple of times but for some reason i can't see attachments thumbnails. I can see the pic if i roll the mouse over blank space hoping for the cursor to change to the appropriate shape and clicking that though.

I agree with darius, that should be in the FAQ. the administrator was very speedious and kind in emailing me back about this, but I as well figured something was wrong with the site, because I am a member of at least a dozen other forums, and have never encountered such a rule.

yes, well i suppose that is understood... however it is NOT the way most other forums work, so why should it be different here? ... i think some people just like to make up rules, or get glee from inflicting/enforcing them on others... or whatever

I can understand why this rule is applaid. But sometimes you can see all thumbnail attachments but then you can't open them... maybe the software which controls this new policy isn't foolproof yet.:(

I believe you just need to post once, or at least occasionally to view the attachments. You can't just be a lurker.

I've been here around 3 days with a few posts and I don't want to end up having a bunch of Spam! posts just so I can see what everyone is talking about.
