i was watching a promo for the upcoming Shamrock/Gracie fight on and HOLY SHIT!!! This chick Gina Carano is the hottest woman kickboxer I've ever seen. I'd give anything to spar with her.

gina carano fought last night on the showtime EXC card. i have the fight if anyone is interested. not sure if there are rules against linking to full fights as copywrited content.

the fight was awesome by the way, great debut for women's fighting. first time showtime had carried a women's fight, either boxing or mma.

gina carano used to be a full contact thai fighter, which is to say, thai rules allowing elbows and knees to the face. western kickboxing typically does not allow elbows or knees to the head in a prolonged clinch. k1, in japan, allows clinch work but not elbows.

she had a good career in thai boxing but in her last fight (12-1), she got her ass beat pretty bad and decided to transition into mixed martial arts, otherwise known as "cage fighting" or "extreme fighting," but properly known as mixed martial arts. she doesnt have any grappling experience that i could discern in her fight but i think she can be a big star due to her looks and very explosive striking.

gina was one of master toddy's "battle angels" and learned thai boxing from him. you may have seen master toddy on the MTV show "true life: i am a muay thai fighter" which chronicles kit cope and his brother traveling to thailand to fight in a no-gloves match. master toddy is a renowned muay thai trainer and trained both cope brothers. to my knowledge, gina carano never competed without gloves, which can be a nasty affair in terms of facial cuts and eye injuries.

just to be clear, this is not a "freak show" fight or anything like that. it was a legit promotion on Showtime, like a boxing event, and was sanctioned by the state athletic commission in mississippi. this is not a cat fight, or mud wrestling. it is two professional fighters who happen to be women. it is not ballbusting porn.

the fight was awesome and it was a great debut for women's fighting. according to the promoter, it was the first time showtime had done a women's bout in any combat sport, be it boxing, kickboxing, or mma. so this was a pretty big deal.
