But I have another technical question.

Is there a piece of free software out there that would allow me to capture and save videos from Youtube, and also allow me to splice them together?

Sorry to keep bugging you with regards to technical stuff.

Be assured that any help will earn you a bloody hard kick in the nuts!!! :)

Rebecca:

You don't have to feel sorry about asking other members here for technical advice with your computer or advice about other websites and such.

Forums like this are kind of like a community, and in communities people or members are supposed to help each other. If you can't ask the members here for technical advice about your computer or about other BB sites, and things like that, and if the members here know the answers but don't offer their insights on it, then that doesn't say much for FemaleDom.com as a community.

I like to think that the forums I'm a mamber of are communities where members can share their thoughts, fantasies, experiences, technical advice, things like that with each other.

So, that said, can someone here please help Rebecca with this?

There's probably a program you could download that would do exactly that.

If it were me doing it though, I'd use the site vixy.net, which converts and downloads youtube urls to .avi format for you, it also has options to download just the sound as an .mp3 or to download the video as a format that would work in your mobile/cell phone (no need to download any program, it's all online).

Then I'd just use a normal video editting program for the splicing (eg :machine:Windows Movie Maker :cryingblu:cussing:)

In my opinion, that would be the best way, because when trying to find free software that does what you want, you usually have download loads until you find one that doesnt add a watermark or have a time limit on the clips you can use....

Also, bear in mind that the picture quality on youtube clips wont be that great.

a very good converter for youtube-videos is this site:

http://vixy.net/

you can convert the videos online and very easy - after the procedure you can automatically download the file to your harddisk ^^

The latest, free version of RealPlayer saves youtube clips. When the video begins to play, move the mouse over the clip and a tab pops up just above the video asking if you want to save the video. Get it at www.real.com (http://www.real.com)

If you use mozilla firefox instead of internet explorer the 'video downloader' add-on does just that with a single click. Very useful program indeed.

As for splicing them together, most computers come with simple editing software nowadays, windows movie maker etc, which should be more than sufficient.

but wouldn't that keep the .flv format? Easier to use vixy as it converts as well as downloads.

How I would do it: Use www.keepvid.com (http://www.keepvid.com) to save the video as an flv file. Use the free program CinemaForge to convert it to an avi file. Vixy.net does not work for me, if it works for you use that instead as it will save the video as an avi file and no conversion is necessary. To splice multiple files together, use the free program VirtualDub. With that you can combine as many videos as you want and make one big/long video. :machine:

I cant really help with this but I used to know a trick to manipulate java and turn any video, audio, or software file into an easy to download link. You have to "veiw source" then find the desired file, then open notepad then write "aherf (then the file name) herf" then save as html, then open it with internet explorer and there it is. It's been years since I've done it and I'm not even sure if "aherf" is correct or not. Maybe I should freshen up on my java and hlml skills.

personally i use mozilla firefox as mentioned above and as well real media player, both ways work great for me and are very easy.

as for ballstothewalls, aherf idea i think you mean <a href="link goes here">name to display</a>

but that's way too much work and might be too much of a hustle for someone that doesn't anything about html and i'd stay away from doing this, this way.

Instead of using these "youtube" ripping websites like keepvid, I would imagine a superior alternative would be to save a video of a particular region of your screen (the region where the video is playing). You can do this using a variety of software, but I find the most efficient is CamStudio (google it, its open source and freeware).

You might be asking yourself "why use that when I can use keepvid or another ripping website?". The answer is, those particular sites (from my experience) dont allow you to save videos from ALL video streaming sites (like pornotube or xtube, etc). In this case, you would have to use CamStudio or one of its brothers, so yeah I'd reccomend using CamStudio all the time.:)
