I used to chat with Vladimir too on the dbabble forum a few years ago. I'm afraid that's the only place I recall him from. Hopefully he'll read this thread and be inspired to start posting here too.

the guys who used to run the dbabble forum have another forum , i tried to join it but got no response

I remember there was a long-running bug in the dbabble forum software that meant that emails notifying new members that their registration was complete were not being sent out automatically as they should. This problem lasted for years, kept resurfacing. Perhaps something similar is happening now?
