What our closest living relatives can tell us about sticking together
Published on June 2, 2010

In the US, 600 women are sexually assaulted every day. One woman is beaten by her partner every 15 seconds. Despite education (http://www.psychologytoday.com/basics/education) campaigns and law enforcement, and penalties, violence continues to threaten women throughout America. What can we do to make women safe?

I believe bonobos, may have the answer. Once I saw Tatango, an unusually aggressive bonobo male, run up to Mimi, the alpha female, and backhand her across the face. He hit her so hard he almost gave her whiplash. Within seconds, five females in the group ran to Mimi’s rescue. They chased Tatango around the night building until he fled into the forest. When he continued his aggressive outbursts, those five females beat him so badly, they damn near ripped off his testicles. After that, Tatango never caused another problem.

One male is stronger than any one female. But no male is stronger than many females. As women, we tend to isolate ourselves. At the office, we backstab our female colleagues and women are mostly bullied by other women. (http://www.workplacebullying.org/2009/05/20/wow-bullying/)

In this way, we are more like chimpanzees. Like us, chimpanzees are male dominated. Females don’t form strong friendships. They tend to spend a lot of time alone. And when the males reach adolescence (http://www.psychologytoday.com/basics/adolescence), they start battering every female in the group. Like in humans, most of the beatings aren’t about doing a lot of damage, they are about asserting dominance and maintaining control.

Scientific research has already shown that women are more intimate and emotional in their friendships than men (http://www.springerlink.com/content/k75760x67qh138kn/), they turn to female friends in times of stress (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10941275?dopt=Abstract), and our very biochemistry is set up to benefit by female bonding.

The true purpose of a sisterhood isn’t to have gossip (http://www.psychologytoday.com/basics/social-networking) buddies, a sewing circle, or a lunch gang. It is a powerful alliance that will protect and shelter you from the battering of work, life, and the occasional chimpanzee male.

As the Czech proverb goes, don't protect yourself with a fence, but rather with your friends.

My new book, Bonobo Handshake, is out now. Buy it here on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Bonobo-Handshake-Memoir-Adventure-Congo/dp/1592405460) or visit my website www.bonobohandshake.com (http://www.bonobohandshake.com/)
It seems that we have a female chimp with a ballbusting fetish. I don't know if the author is credible, she writes a lot of feminist bullshit, but that's sexy somehow.

Hmm. I googled this from the same woman:

the testicle biting game (http://bonobohandshake.blogspot.com/2007/10/testicle-biting-game.html)

Today I saw something I have never seen before. Mixa kept slapping his testicles on Tembo’s face, and Tembo kept biting them. I have never seen a bonobo laugh as hard as Mixa with Tembo’s teeth sunk into his balls.
And several scientists (who will remain unnamed) say the sex lives of bonobos is exaggerated.
Kata is so-so. Thank you to all those people who’ve written. It’s surprised me how many people really care about a story they read in passing on the internet. I’ll keep you updated on her progress.

I asked Claudine how she does it. In a week I’ve seen her lose a new born baby, her oldest bonobo, and an orphan who came in with a broken heart, literally. I’m just passing through and I can hardly stand it. Claudine just looked at Mixa pulling Fizzy off a log and said,

‘They seem happy don’t they?’

And that was her answer.http://bonobohandshake.blogspot.com/2007/10/testicle-biting-game.html

Also:

And then, Brian was playing this game with Tembo where Brian was slapping Tembo with a stick and Tembo put his balls in the way so Brian was whipping his balls. they must be tough. Brian was wincing the whole time.

Hehe, true ballbusters!

WTF? Tembo and Brian look like male names to me! Is this gay ballbusting? Please put a gay tag before your post or people could be shocked or disgusted.

Why is it offensive if two males do it but not if a male and female do it? And you need warning tags because you can't handle the idea of two males (animals no less) engaging in same-sex activity?

It's just common courtesy to put a gay tag on gay things so that we, macho heterosexual males, can watch porn safely.

If you like gay porn it does not mean that all the people like it.

No, no I understand that just because one person likes something doesn't mean other people have to like it. That's certainly not what I'm implying.

But by the same token, if you don't like something you don't have to look at it either.

What I was driving at originally was that it comes across as offensive to demand that other people around you conform to your tastes and orientation, and that it seems homophobic to have such a reaction to a single post that indirectly implied same sex activity between animals because they sounded like two male names.

And saying "macho heterosexual males" suggests that gay men somehow aren't manly or worthy of being called men.

But with that said, I recognize this is your thread and we're in a femdom forum so I will bow out.

I took a scientific, not sexual, approach to this. Therefore did not care if they were females or not. I just thought it was interesting to see ballbusting by animals - regardless if it is F/M or M/M.

I will never consider animal activity "porn" - and therefore I will not tag it. I do, however, find animal behauvior interesting in a biological and psychological view of species.

I actually think that these 5 females grabbing this male nuts and trying to ******** him is a good porn and I wonder if somebody filmed it.

PS: for science I mean, cause I have an interest in science, of course.
