No, South Jersey is usually SNJ and North Jersey is usually NNJ. At least that is how we usually do thing down in these parts.

I know that N.J. stands for New Jersey, so it wouldn't be logical to have two of the same abbreviations for places in the same area

N.J. represents the whole state AND the northern portion...
