That didn't quite work. Followed your directions and ended up with text only and no picture (below), so tried "Insert video" and got the text with a link but no picture

I see what you did. You put the link to the video in the place where you should have put the link to an image. The result was this, so to speak:

The forum tries to show an image, but it can't because it is a link to a video.

I'll try to explain how I do it:

- From the page of the video, I copy the name of the video and paste it here in the forum. I do the same with the link of the video, just as it is, as text. Something like this.

- Then, I would go back to the previous page in which I found the link to this video. The link is a small image with the name of the video.
- So, I right-click on the image and choose the option called something like "show image" or similar. (My Windows is in German, so I don't know the exact text in English.)
- By doing that, the browser shows you the image file, which is usually a jpg, in a new page.
- You can then copy the link from the browser's address bar above, or you can right-click on the image and choose "copy image address" or similar, but NOT "copy image". You need the text of the link. In this case, it is:

And then you come to this forum, click on "Reply" and paste the link into the image dialog box. The resulting text will be something like this, but without the blank spaces.
